Intervention
1. Present new vocabulary words with definitions that are understandable to the student (student-friendly)
2. Give examples when possible.
3. Have student give examples of terms.
4. Provide pictures, objects, and new words simultaneously.
5. Provide mnemonic strategies when possible.
6. Sort new vocabulary by feature, category, function, comparison, and association.
7. Break down root word and prefixes and suffixes.
8. Make a set of flash cards.
9. Provide synonyms and antonyms for new words.
10. Help develop memory strategies for student to remember words.
11. Select a limited number of vocabulary words.
12. Have student develop a vocabulary log that contains:
