Problem: Student has difficulty answering "wh" questions.
Intervention
1. If unable to answer higher level "wh" question ("Why do we brush our teeth?")
3. Ask questions every day so that the student learns the skill through repetition and practice
4. Use multiple choice questions
5. Provide "wait time" for student to process and answer question
6. Have student repeat question using exact verbatim or paraphrased wording to ensure comprehension
7. Help student by providing clues to answer
- Decrease complexity of "wh" question ("What do we do with a tooth brush?")
- If student continues to have difficulty with the question, change to a cloze format ("We brush our teeth to keep them clean and not get __________".)
